Valcourt’s senior management team averages 25 years experience in the exterior building services industry. All of our executives are actively involved in making sure that we uphold the company’s mission and vision, as well as our dedication to employees and clients.

 

Jeffery T. Valcourt, Chairman and Managing Member
Jeff started Valcourt Building Services in 1986, and is the Chairman and Managing Member. Over the years, he has been actively involved in many professional associations such as the International Window Cleaning Association (IWCA); the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI); the Scaffold Industry Association (SIA); American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and its subcommittees for Safety Requirements for Window Cleaning and Safety Requirements for Powered Platforms for Building Maintenance. Jeff has been awarded the Certified Building Service Executive designation by the BSCAI, and the Silver Award from the SIA for his work with their Educational Foundation.

Jon Capon, President of Window Cleaning Division
Jon entered the window cleaning services business by forming Capon Window Cleaning in 1977. In 1994, Jon merged his successful company with Valcourt Building Services. Jon currently oversees all of the Valcourt window cleaning branches in New Jersey, Delaware Valley, Washington/Baltimore, Virginia, and Georgia. Jon helped form the International Window Cleaning Association in 1989 and served as its President in 1993. He currently serves as Jeff Valcourt’s alternate on the ANSI A120 and ANSI I-14 committees.

Scott Tappan, President of Waterproofing & Restoration Division
As president of the Waterproofing and Restoration Division, Scott brings 20 years of proven leadership to Valcourt, most recently as President of a nationally known industrial services company. With branch locations in New Jersey and Washington/Baltimore, Scott will oversee the division from its headquarters in Bradenton, Florida. A graduate from the University of South Florida with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Scott is active in many business and community associations including the Association for Corporate Growth, Florida Venture Forum, Tampa Bay Technology Forum, Young Presidents Organization, and Boy Scouts of America.

Dan Short, Executive Committee Member
Dan has served over 35 years in leadership positions with various companies in the building services industry. Since 1973, he has been a prominent speaker and leader at various industry association seminars and conventions. In 2000 he served as president of Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI). Dan has also written magazine articles and consulted for many companies on communications, team building and leadership.

Dan Frix, Chief Financial Officer
Dan joined the management of Valcourt Building Services in March 2001 as Chief Financial Officer. He came to VBS with eighteen years experience in senior financial management positions with technology and aerospace companies, and was a founding partner of a firm of Certified Public Accountants in Atlanta. He is active in several professional organizations including the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs.

Stan Clements , Controller
As controller of Valcourt Building Services, Stan has over 18 years of accounting experience and 15 years in leadership positions. A graduate of Penn State University, he spent several years with a national CPA firm, reaching the position of senior manager. Prior to joining Valcourt, Stan was controller for a large construction and services company located in the Washington, D.C. area.

Rick Vassar, Corporate Risk Manager
Rick came on board with Valcourt Building Services in May, 2003, and is responsible for coordinating all corporate activities in the areas of risk management, insurance and safety. He has more than 25 years of managerial, administrative, sales and supervisory experience, primarily in the automotive industry. Rick has earned the Associate in Risk Management (ARM), CPCU and AIS designations from the Insurance Institute of America, and has been active in the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS). He has also written several articles for publication in RM Magazine, the leading professional trade publication in the risk management field.

Steve Selick, Director of Information Technology
Steve joined Valcourt full time in 2005 after serving as the company’s IT consultant for four years, where he streamlined our workflow and communications and improved data retrieval and storage. He is a Microsoft Certified Engineer with ten years of IT consulting experience.
