VALCOURT CREATES SAFESITE VIDEO. The lights! The camera! The Hollywood glamour!

Well, two out of three, anyway, as Valcourt Building Services created a video detailing the benefits and innovations of the all-new comprehensive SafeSite Advantage risk-management program for their Window Cleaning Division. The finished video is available here, or by searching YouTube for “SafeSite, only from Valcourt.”

“This was a new experience for Valcourt,” noted COO Jon Capon. “We never used multimedia presentations in the past, but SafeSite is such an important and ambitious step forward, we needed a way to communicate its benefits quickly and clearly. SafeSite is the first program of its type anywhere, so it’s fitting that we should produce our first-ever corporate video to introduce SafeSite.”

The two-day shoot took many of Valcourt’s Windows Division General Managers and SafeSite Directors to the rooftops of Northern Virginia, various training facilities and an assortment of Valcourt branch offices. No unseen narrators here; Valcourt’s own people outlined the various benefits of SafeSite directly to the camera.

Shot by local Virginia production company G14 Media under the direction of Agency 51 Advertising, the four-minute video shows how Valcourt’s innovative SafeSite program was created and developed. The video features the full range of Valcourt staffers, from window cleaners to top management, and shows how many departments and how many people work daily in support of Valcourt’s window cleaning projects.

“We started by writing the first draft of the script three months before the actual shoot,” says Agency 51 Creative Director David Witz. “From that point, everyone involved with SafeSite helped the video take shape. While the scripting process was going on, we were busy scouting rooftops and various Valcourt offices and training facilities. We also lined up everything else that was needed, from transportation to makeup.”

The finished SafeSite introductory video premiered mid April, when Valcourt personnel up and down the East Coast viewed the early release together online. “Everyone did great, “said Derek Dabbs, Valcourt’s VP, Window Cleaning Division. “Now, if anyone needs me, I’ll be lounging in my talent trailer.”

Valcourt revolutionizes risk management with SafeSite Advantage.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Valcourt Building Services, the nation’s largest exterior maintenance company, has officially rolled out SafeSite Advantage, the most comprehensive risk management initiative in its industry.

“Window cleaning, waterproofing, restoration work—these are all dangerous jobs,” says Valcourt COO Jon Capon. “Our own managers developed this companywide program designed to protect our clients and our workers, and to set new standards for checking and double-checking every aspect of job safety.”

“At Valcourt, we believe that the safest buildings are the most valuable buildings,” says CEO Jeff Valcourt. “We value your peace of mind, and we prove that by providing a level of protection no one else can match. That’s what SafeSite is all about.”

SafeSite is an all-in-one risk-management program so comprehensive that only Valcourt could have created it. SafeSite bundles safety management, compliance management, claims management and education into the only comprehensive risk-management program in our industry.
“We examined the protection, compliance and safety offerings from our competitors and found them wanting,” says Jason Robertson, GM of Valcourt’s DC Windows office. “We saw another strong opportunity to lead the industry, while making things both safer and easier for our clients.”
Property owners and managers are urged to contact their local Valcourt office for a customized SafeSite presentation. Valcourt serves the East Cost from New Jersey to Florida.

In capsule form, SafeSite Advantage dramatically increases protection through:

1. Facilitation
The thorough building inspection is facilitated by SafeSite’s full-time team of professionals, ensuring that no gaps exist in the inspection process.

2. Education
At Valcourt, we believe an informed client is a protected client. Our continually-trained SafeSite team will teach the building owner/management and all onsite staff the compliance requirements of all parties involved in the partnership.

3. Documentation
SafeSite provides our exclusive custom-designed documentation management system for our client’s ease of use. Our team will also ensure that all compliance documentation is current, guaranteeing each client is covered with minimal liability exposure.

4. Communication
We stay in full communication with our clients before, during and after every project, ensuring that all safety and compliance procedures are managed appropriately and faithfully. This process drives down liability exposure by reinforcing the highest safety standards.

5. Insulation
Each project receives a customized SafeSite program, specifically created for your building, to enhance your insulation from liability. SafeSite also adds another level of protection by providing random inspections before, during and after your project.

Further details are available at SafeSiteAdvantage.com. “After many months of development, we’re proud to put the Valcourt name on SafeSite Advantage,” says Jon Capon. “We’re confident that property professionals will immediately see the value in SafeSite for every building they manage.”

Local Atlanta woman donates prize to help rescue dogs through Valcourt’s hoops contest

ATLANTA, GA — What do window washing, college basketball, and pit bulls have in common? Valcourt Building Services made the answer clear.

As the largest window cleaning company in the nation and an industry leader in waterproofing and restoration, Valcourt sought a big and bold way to give back to the community. Inspired by the frenzy of college basketball brackets, Valcourt revealed a unique method in the Madness — the Valcourt Bracket Standout. Participants were challenged to select their teams, and the winner could donate the monetary grand prize to the charity of their choice.

The result was a win-win. After 64 competitive and unpredictable college basketball games, Cindy Jackson (Property Manager at Taylor & Mathis, Inc.) won the grand prize for building the top-performing bracket. Her prize will benefit the Atlanta Underdog Initiative — an all-volunteer, foster-home based organization dedicated to helping every breed in need, with a primary focus on pit bulls and mastiffs. The donation will be used towards rescue efforts and alternative solutions for breed-specific legislation.

“I have a very soft spot for pit bull-type dogs and am dismayed by the bad publicity that irresponsible owners give them. I would like the proceeds to go to the Atlanta Underdog Initiative,” Cindy said.
Valcourt is honored to help support Cindy’s advocacy for responsible dog ownership, and looks forward to connecting with the community in other creative ways in the future.

Valcourt Launches ProXpress, New Rapid-Repair Department

McLean, VA — Valcourt Building Services, one of the nation’s largest exterior maintenance companies, is expanding its operation in the DC, Baltimore, New Jersey and Delaware Valley markets with ProXpress – a new department dedicated exclusively to rapid repair services.

“Most contractors aren’t equipped or designed to handle immediate repair needs,” says Valcourt COO Jon Capon. “So often property managers and building owners are stuck waiting for a return phone call, an estimate to be sent over and finally, for a service person to show up at their property. That’s why we created ProXpress.”

ProXpress is a fully staffed Valcourt department with a dedicated ProXpress Coordinator, Service Manager and service crews with quick repair vehicles. Each ProXpress service vehicle contains the necessary tools and resources to fix most immediate repair needs, quickly and affordably.

“We expedite and simplify the minor repair process, from the initial phone call to the completion of service,” says Capon. “And since we have over 25 years of waterproofing and window cleaning expertise, we’re often able to utilize rope-descent systems instead of having to use suspended scaffolding or rent expensive lifts — which means faster results at a better value.”

ProXpress covers leak investigation, water testing and small exterior repair projects, including concrete repairs, masonry repairs, sealants and waterproofing for buildings and parking structures. The department will officially roll out in DC, Baltimore, New Jersey and Delaware Valley over the next three months.

“We want property managers and building owners to know that we’re always prepared for their immediate repair needs,” stated Capon. “We quickly respond to service requests and fix your building fast — that’s the ProXpress promise.”

Valcourt Expands Waterproofing and Restoration Services Into Richmond

RICHMOND, VA — Valcourt Building Services, one of the nation’s largest exterior maintenance companies, has officially expanded its waterproofing and restoration services into Richmond, VA.

“Valcourt has provided Richmond with the industry’s best window-cleaning services for over a decade,” says Jeff Bradley, Valcourt General Manager of Richmond. “But we’re also the premier waterproofing and restoration provider along the East Coast. With this expansion, we can provide our clients in Richmond with even more value.”

Property managers and building owners in Richmond now have access to the full range of Valcourt’s services, including façade and garage restoration, coating, sealant replacement, glazing, leak detection and more.

“We have over 25 years of experience in maintaining the entire building envelope, so it was really just a matter of time before we expanded our operation in Richmond,” says Bradley. “Not only do our expanded services complement each other, we’re able to have an extra set of eyes on clients’ properties throughout the year to identify and prevent potential issues.”

In addition to Bradley, Jeff Gontarek and Frank Duarte will lead and coordinate the expansion into Richmond. Gontarek, Richmond’s new VP of Operations, comes from the DC/Baltimore market, where he served as Valcourt’s VP of Operations for the past seven years. Duarte will transition from the Operations Manager of window cleaning to Project Manager of waterproofing. Both Bradley and Duarte have over eight years of experience in the Richmond market.

“We know crucial pieces of information about buildings in Richmond, because we’ve already provided them with window-cleaning services” says Bradley. “So no matter what our clients need, we can do it safely and efficiently, saving them both time and money. That’s what being a trusted partner is all about.”

Valcourt Introduces New Logo

McLean, VA — Valcourt Building Services, one of the nation’s leading window cleaning, waterproofing and restoration companies, will debut a new corporate logo to further enhance the company’s brand and image across the East Coast. With operations from New Jersey to Florida, Valcourt will begin phasing the new logo into all markets on May 11th.

“We’ve thought about this for some time,” reflected founder and CEO Jeff Valcourt. “And after careful consideration, we’re proud to announce that we will have a brand-new logo!”

The new logo carries forward some of the recognizable attributes from the original logo. The new design provides a more contemporary look and stronger visual identity for the Valcourt brand.

“We knew this day would eventually come,” stated COO Jon Capon. “As time goes by, you have to evaluate every level of your business. Companies like Apple, Mercedes Benz, IBM and others have gone through similar transitions to update their look. While we know we are not quite on the same scale as Apple, now is that time for us.”

In addition to the new logo, Valcourt also plans to launch a new-and-improved website this summer. More details on the new website are coming soon.

“It’s an exciting time for all of us, here at Valcourt,” proclaimed Capon. “We’re always looking to improve our business and services, so it is only natural that we would also address the Valcourt visual identity. The new logo will certainly help our brand continue to grow for years to come.”

The new website features user-friendly navigation and responsive design to complement any device, so customers are able to easily access it from a computer, tablet and Smartphone.

“Since we serve the complete building envelope in many different markets, there’s a lot of information to communicate,” explained COO Jon Capon. “Plus, we have highly-specialized departments, including SafeSite and ProXpress. Valcourt Launches New Video Series “Safesite -vs- The Other Way”

McLean, VA — Valcourt Building Services, a premier provider of waterproofing, window cleaning and restoration services, announced today that they are investing in a new campaign to further educate property managers and building owners about the importance of a comprehensive risk-management program. The campaign, a video series entitled “SafeSite vs the Other Way,” features two characters debating the unique components of SafeSite and how it impacts liability exposures.

“The presidential race may be stealing the headlines, but this is our industry’s first great debate,” says Valcourt Division Manager Jason Robertson. “SafeSite is the only department dedicated exclusively to mitigating risk. No one else offers anything like it. And now we’re going to explain the difference — one component at a time.”

The videos will focus on a component that is unique to SafeSite and necessary for comprehensive risk-management protection. Valcourt will release a series of videos this year — starting with Facilitation, which will debut on June 23rd.

“Our ongoing commitment to safety is evident in this video series,” explains Robertson. “We do a lot of different things as part of SafeSite that you may or may not be aware of — but they’re all extremely important to keeping our customers and crews protected. Now, you have the opportunity to learn about these things with a series of videos that are just as informative as they are entertaining. They are definitely worth checking out.”

Valcourt forms leadership committee to interpret OSHA’s new safety laws

McLean, VA — In response to the new OSHA laws on Walking-Working Surfaces and Personal Protective Equipment, Valcourt has established a dedicated leadership committee that will interpret the 500+ pages of revised regulations and supporting documentation in order to educate and support their customers and workers.

“The new laws will significantly impact the window-cleaning industry, as well as other service industries,” explained President/CEO Jeff Valcourt. “OSHA will also strictly enforce these changes, so we want to assure our customers that we are taking this issue very seriously. Our team has been reviewing the documentation and are developing a comprehensive plan to support our customers in the coming months.”

With over 100 years of combined experience, Valcourt’s dedicated leadership committee is comprised of some of the industry’s foremost experts in safety and compliance, including Jeff Valcourt, COO Jon Capon, Divisional VP Jason Robertson, General Manager Josh Wing, and SafeSite Managers Chris Duffy and Jose Turcios. Members of the leadership committee have also served on the A39, A-120, A-41 and I-14 standards writing committees.

“As one of the nation’s premier service providers, we have a depth of resources dedicated to many highly specialized areas,” stated Jon Capon. “Three years ago, our own Jason Robertson created the industry’s most comprehensive risk-management department, SafeSite Advantage. The department is dedicated to providing our customers with safety and compliance support. It will be a highly valuable asset in assisting our customers and workers during this transition — however, it is clear that even more resources will be necessary to properly provide support with these changes.”

While the 500+ pages of information, rationale and revised code will require some time to thoroughly review, Valcourt is confident that the committee will gain a deep understanding of the new laws and its implications to both building owners and service providers. With dedicated resources and extensive experience, Valcourt is uniquely positioned to assist property managers and building owners, and determine the specific solutions that meet the requirements.

“We’re committed to making our clients’ lives easier,” says Capon. “For over 30 years, we have prided ourselves at being at the forefront of safe and compliant practices. And this time will be no exception.”

Valcourt Successfully Secures Relief for Building Owners with OSHA’s Revised Regulations

McLean, VA — Valcourt has lobbied on behalf of building owners and has successfully secured relief for meeting the demands of OSHA’s recently revised regulations. On Wednesday, November 29, 2017, OSHA released a memorandum regarding new enforcement guidelines to the final rule of CFR 29 1910.27 as a result of Valcourt’s efforts.

“We identified that the market needs simply couldn’t be met due to a lack of general awareness, understanding of a very complicated ruling, and resources available to support building owners,” says Jason Robertson, Valcourt’s Window Cleaning Division Manager. “When OSHA initially announced the revised regulations, we wanted to ensure our customers had all the necessary resources on their pathway to compliance. So, we worked quickly to expand our operation, technology, personnel, third-party partners, and systems of our SafeSite Advantage Program. We also created a brand-new division specializing in safety systems. But more needed to be done to provide industry-wide support.”

Valcourt’s leadership group, with the support of their labor attorney, secured a meeting with the federal OSHA team that developed the revised regulations. Over the next few months, they worked together behind the scenes to devise a plan that would provide building owners with relief while also achieving OSHA’s goals.

“OSHA asked us to draft a position statement for formal consideration,” says Robertson. “They also requested that we obtain industry association support (such as with the IWCA) to strengthen the position during the presentation to OSHA. And we’re proud to report that our efforts were successful. OSHA granted the relief that many building owners and managers had hoped for.”

The resulting memorandum grants building owners additional time to comply if employers and building owners can demonstrate and document that they are exercising due diligence to come into compliance with the standard’s requirements. For the complete details on the memorandum, click here.

“While this is not a blanket extension, it will allow building owners to continue building operations on their pathway to fully complying,” says Robertson. “Our SafeSite team will continue to support our customers throughout this process. Valcourt has been and always will be committed to being an industry leader in safety and compliance standards – because there’s no higher priority than both supporting and protecting our clients and workers.”

Valcourt Introduces Compliance-Support Portal to Customers

McLean, VA — In response to OSHA’s revised regulations on fall protection and walking-working surfaces, Valcourt has enhanced its SafeSite Advantage Program and created an all-new customer portal – the industry’s first online resource for compliance support. Exclusively available to SafeSite subscribers, the portal provides an array of tools and features that make it easier than ever for customers to navigate existing standards, manage compliance-related documentation, access historical records and documents, stay educated on evolving regulations and requirements, and more.

“The industry is dealing with a more regulated environment than ever before,” says Division VP Jason Robertson. “In response, we’ve added more resources, personnel, structure, systems and technology to the compliance division of SafeSite – and the member portal is a key component of that. We’re very excited to be introducing it to our customers because of the variety of ways it will help them maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, stay organized, and most importantly, offer a safer workplace.”

The portal is currently available across all Valcourt markets. At the time of launch, customers enrolled in the SafeSite Advantage program are emailed a distinct username and required to set up a password to access their portal account. Once set up, all historical compliance reports and documents for every site in their portfolio are readily available.

“We are very excited to be offering this new tool to our customers, because our focus is always on making their lives easier,” stated Robertson. “With the portal, our customers have access to resources that simplify documentation management, as well as compliance support for staying on top of industry-related changes. So, when there is an inspection or even an investigation, all documentation and information is in one easy-to-access location. From work plans and emergency procedures, to written assurances, templates and proof of formal training, it’s all there in the portal.”
