1350 Eye Street, NW is a 342,000 sq. ft. Class A office building located in the heart of Washington, D.C. The property is in a high profile, high traffic area with many retail storefronts. It was essential to keeping the retail stores open while performing maintenance on the office building, and provide a safe, clean and protected work environment for both tenants and customers.

SOLUTION

Valcourt’s constant communication with the property manager and the onsite engineer served to establish a proper working schedule. This allowed Jones Lang LaSalle to properly notify all tenants when work would take place. All storefront shutdowns occurred during non-operational hours, so businesses were not disrupted while work was completed. Valcourt provided a highly skilled crew of men, including a dedicated superintendent, who were all onsite from the start of work through project completion. Valcourt conducted quality control inspections while work was being finished.

The project was completed using the most safety compliant and operable access equipment available. All pedestrian traffic was safely routed away from work areas utilizing aesthetically pleasing traffic barriers. In addition to safety, cleanliness was a major priority for Valcourt in this high traffic area; Valcourt conducted a full clean up at the end of each workday.
