Challenge
When Reckson/SL Green Realty Group purchased 125 Chubb Ave., they knew that in order for this five-story, 279,000 sq. ft. property to be competitive it would need to be brought up to today’s Class A commercial office building standards.
Valcourt Building Services played an integral part in repositioning 125 Chubb Ave. for leasing. Faced with the onset of winter, Valcourt and other vendors, most notably the landscapers, needed to complete a major portion of work before the winter freeze in order to maximize curb appeal.
Solution
Valcourt researched and found a high-end paint that could be applied when temperatures dipped into the 40’s (paint originally specified could only be applied when temperatures were in the 60’s). Valcourt also had to mobilize multiple aerial man lifts, swing stage scaffolding, and personnel in the courtyard areas so that the scope of work was quickly completed, allowing the landscapers to do their planting and paver installations before winter arrived. Valcourt successfully completed its major portion of the building repositioning project within the owner’s timetable and design criteria.
