Challenge
Edgewater Towers’ three 15-story towers located along beautiful Panama City Beach required significant concrete and stucco repairs and the removal of over 75,000 feet of tile from private balconies. The salt air along the gulf coast had deteriorated not only the concrete but also caused severe damage to the building’s window mullions. All project work needed to be completed while the building remained occupied by both owners and short-term renters, including spring break for college students.
Solution
The Valcourt team assembled 18 field personnel and 10 swing stages, as well as support from all levels of Valcourt management, to complete this large-scale restoration project. Mindful of an even larger population during the spring break period, Valcourt took extra precaution to safeguard the work area with overhead protection. Regular operations meetings were held to keep the owners informed of progress based on the original plan, as well as providing advance schedules for work to be performed in the weeks ahead. Multiple reports were created by Valcourt’s operations team so that Edgewater’s management could keep track of costs during all phases of construction. The project was successfully completed on-time and on-budget to the delight of the client.
